What does it mean to have a Mass “offered” for someone?

Mass intentions are most commonly offered for the repose of the soul of someone who has died. Married couples sometimes have a Mass offered in celebration of a special wedding anniversary.  Many schedule a Mass intention on the birthday, or anniversary of the death of a loved one.

There is a Mass intention for every Mass (with the exception of Christmas Eve/Day and the Easter Vigil Mass).  One of the five weekend Masses must be offered for ‘the parishioners of St. Paul Parish’.

Mass intentions are scheduled through the parish office and there is a $10 stipend per Mass.  Please call (330) 499-2201 or visit the parish office to schedule a Mass intention.
